Walmart Chile
Walmart Chile, previously named Distribución y Servicio (D&S), is a Chilean company that operates several supermarkets, including Líder, Express de Lider, Ekono, SuperBodega aCuenta and Central Mayorista.
Since 2009, the main controller is Wal-Mart Stores, Inc., which own 99.93% of stocks as of March 2014.〔(Company financial results )〕

In December 2008, Walmart Stores reached an agreement with the controlling group to acquire a majority stake (75%) in the company, which was then known as D&S. In January 2009, the operation took place, and after a series of public offerings to acquire stocks, Walmart owned 99.93% of the company as of March 2014.〔() Company financial results ]〕 The company opened its first supermarket on April 27, 1957, under the Almac banner.〔(El Mercurio (Santiago), 23 de septiembre de 2003, p.B5 )〕 This is considered the first supermarket in Chile and South America.
